How to apply

Ok, before we start, it is important for you that you check whether you meet all our entry requirements and have the right qualifications – otherwise you won’t be able to enrol at THUAS. 

But don’t panic just yet. If you don’t qualify for direct enrolment, there might be alternative options for you. Scroll down the entry requirements page to view the options.

If you have a Dutch residential address (if not, continue with step 3), you will need to set up a ‘digital identity’, or so-called DigiD account, to be able to log into official Dutch websites and Studielink. It usually takes around five working days, so get it up and running asap!

If you don’t have a Dutch residential address, you must set up a Studielink account. Please check out the Q&A section of the Studielink website for more information, should you run into problems. Once you are set up and logged in, you will be able to add your previous education details and submit an enrolment request. If THUAS has an agent available in your country, you can also apply through them. Just enter this information into Studielink when prompted during the enrolment process. If you are from China and you are applying for our English Prep School programme, you must apply through an agent. Agents may charge a fee for their services. 

Once you have applied through Studielink, you will receive your THUAS student number and a login for the Osiris application system by email. Please complete your application in Osiris and upload your documents as soon as possible, so that we can start processing your application.

To process your application, you must upload: 

• a copy of your European ID card or passport 
• a residence permit valid on 1 September 2024 if you are a non-EU resident 
• a copy of your diploma certificate with the grade list or official transcript 
• in case you haven’t received your diploma results yet, a statement (in English, Dutch, German or French) signed and stamped by your school listing your diplomas, predicted grades and expected graduation date 
• valid English language test results 

Once you have submitted the right documents, it is time for our Enrolment Office to make a decision. Sit tight. You can keep track of the decision process in Osiris and we will email you once we have made the decision. If you have worked with an agent, they will also receive an email.

For non-EU students it is important that you start looking into living abroad and arranging your immigration and visa paperwork. We will need some additional items from you. More information will be provided to you after you have submitted your enrolment request. 

To complete your registration, you have to pay your tuition fees. If you want to pay by direct debit through Studielink, we will automatically debit the fee from your bank account either in one lump sum or in nine instalments. Digital payments are only possible if you have a bank account in a SEPA country. If you are not from a SEPA country, you must pay the entire balance in one go and send us the payment confirmation. (This step does not apply to first year non-EU students who have paid the package fee.)

Make sure that you regularly check into Studielink and Osiris under ‘my degree programmes’ and ‘status’, to find out the status of your enrolment. Or look under ‘my to do list’ in Studielink, to see if there are any actions you need to take. During the course of the summer, we will also send you several emails to remind you of these actions. Once your enrolment is complete, the status in Studielink will state ‘enrolled’. You will be informed by your programme management about schedules and books during the summer period. You will also receive an email informing you that your digital student card and proof of enrolment are waiting for you at the start of the academic year.

1. You can register for your chosen master’s degree programme via Studielink. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email and your login details for Osiris (the administration portal that we use to assess your eligibility). Please be aware of the following application deadlines: 
   EU: 31 July 2024 
   Non-EU: 31 May 2024 
2. Osiris will ask you for digital copies of various documents, such as copies of your resume, the diploma of the highest level of education you have achieved and the accompanying list of grades. Please upload these documents. We will use them during our evaluation. This evaluation process will take two to four weeks. 
3. You are invited for an intake interview if you are found eligible on the basis of your previous education, relevant work experience, motivation and English language skills (if applicable). This interview will be held on the campus of THUAS Pro or via Skype. During this interview you will be able to tell us about your aspirations and reasons for wanting to enrol in the master’s degree programme. You will also have the opportunity to ask us any questions you may have. If this interview is experienced as positive by both parties, you will be conditionally accepted to the programme and will receive a Letter of Acceptance + Admission offer from us. 
4. In order to secure your place in the programme, you must transfer the tuition fee (in full or by down payment) before the applicable deadline.  
   EU: 31 July 2024 
   Non-EU: 31 May 2024 
5. You will be officially enrolled once we have received your payment and when your immigration has been approved by the Dutch Immigration Services (if applicable). As an EU/EEA student, you do not need to do anything else regarding immigration. We will email you a confirmation as soon as you have been accepted to the master’s degree programme. As a non-EU/EEA student we will apply for a student residence permit on your behalf, after we have received your payment and the supporting immigration documents. We will also apply for an entry visa if you need one. You can collect your visa from the nearest Dutch embassy in your country. It will take between 2 to 8 weeks to process. Please bear in mind that the THUAS deadline for applying for your student visa is: 
   Non-EU immigration deadline: 15 June 2024 

6. Final arrangements: 
   Travelling to The Hague – we strongly advise that you wait until the Immigration & Naturalisation Service (IND) has approved your entry visa and residence permit before you make travel arrangements. 
   Preparing the documents you need to bring to the Netherlands – you can find full details in the information package. 

   Arranging student accommodation – please let us know if you need help with arranging accommodation (accommodation@hhs.nl). 

   Airport pick-up service – we will be providing a pick-up service from Schiphol Airport in August. The date will be announced shortly. 

   University accommodation is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Don't wait too long! Please let us know through Osiris if you want us to help you with your accommodation. Or contact us at accommodation@hhs.nl. 

7. Your arrival: 
   Mid-July we will send you information about the introduction days, the reading list and your timetable. Your arrival in The Hague will be scheduled sometime mid-August.

Please note, if you would like to follow a master’s degree module, you must be living and working in the Netherlands or have a valid visa.
