The Politics Collection consists of the Public Affairs Information Service (PAIS) Index, Policy File Index, Political Science Database and Worldwide Political Science Abstracts.
• The PAIS International database (originally, the Public Affairs Information Service) contains records for over half a million international journal articles, books, government documents, statistical directories, grey literature, research reports, conference papers, web content, and more. It is updated quarterly with over 17,000 current records added in total each year.
• Policy File Index is a resource for U.S. public policy research and gives access to updated information from over 350 public policy think tanks, nongovernmental organizations, research institutes, university centers, advocacy groups, and other entities. Over 75 public policy topics are covered, from foreign policy to domestic policy. The majority of Policy File Index records link directly to the full-text report, paper, document, or other source. Content is updated on a very frequent basis.
• Political Science Database gives users access to hundreds of leading political science, public policy, and international relations journals. It also includes thousands of recent full-text doctoral dissertations on political science topics, together with working papers, conference proceedings, country reports, policy papers and other sources.
• Worldwide Political Science Abstracts contains descriptions and abstracts of books, chapters and serials literature (dating back to 1951) published throughout the world in the discipline of political science and its complementary fields, including international relations, law, and public administration. 68 % of the 1,500+ titles are published outside the United States.
Via the 'Change databases' option, ProQuest databases can be combined or excluded. And via the 'Exclude duplicate documents' option in the search screen, results are deduplicated.
