Bert studied philosophy and psychology in Amsterdam (UvA). In 2018 he obtained his doctorate in Rotterdam (EUR) with the thesis The stolen disorder: A cultural philosophical interpretation of the ā€˜depression epidemicā€™. He is co-manager of the international academic network The Social Pathologies of Contemporary Civilization.
