Learning Communities for System Integration
Learning Communities for System Integration brings together education, research, industry, and government to develop knowledge and solutions for complex challenges in the energy transition.
The energy transition requires collaboration across disciplines and sectors. Learning communities create the space to learn together, experiment, and develop sustainable solutions.
– Baldiri Salcedo, Researcher
Introduction
The energy transition presents complex challenges that can only be addressed through collaboration. Within Learning Communities for System Integration, researchers, students, businesses, governments, and societal organisations work together to develop innovative solutions for integrating renewable energy into future energy systems.
Project Background
The transition towards a sustainable energy system requires new ways of learning and collaborating. Learning communities connect education, research, and professional practice, enabling participants to share knowledge, experiment together, and contribute to accelerating the energy transition.
Objective
To develop learning communities where education, research, and practice collaborate on system integration challenges within the energy transition.
Target Group
- Higher professional education and university students
- Lecturers and researchers
- Professionals from energy companies, governments, and societal organisations
- Career switchers and professionals working in the energy transition
Method
The project establishes learning communities in which participants work together on real-world challenges. Through knowledge exchange, collaborative projects, and events, new knowledge is created and applied in practice.
Results
The project contributes to the Positive Energy Districts Learning Community and organises one of the national Learning Community events. In addition, a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on integrating renewable energy into the current energy system is being developed.
Impact
Learning Communities for System Integration strengthens collaboration between education, research, and practice. The project contributes to knowledge development, the education of future professionals, and the acceleration of the energy transition.
