The SportLab is a practical environment (‘field lab’) at the Zuiderpark Sports Campus. At the SportLab, researchers are working on innovations and research to help people exercise more and better and to improve sports performances.

The SportLab is equipped with the latest research, testing and development facilities in the area of (adapted) sports and exercise. The SportLab has extensive sport analysis equipment, a wheelchair ergometer and a workshop. Additionally, the Mobility Resource Centre, the Exercise Desk and the Gym of the Future are located at or near the SportLab, ensuring a close collaboration.

Research, education and practice

In the SportLab, students and staff members from various THUAS degree programmes work with researchers and end users from the professional field on sport innovations and research. This enables students to acquire important skills for the future and use their expertise to help the end user.

Collaboration

The research and innovation projects in the SportLab mostly come from the Assistive Technology for Mobility and Sports and Healthy Lifestyle in a Supporting Environment research groups. End users and partners from outside The Hague University of Applied Sciences that collaborate with the SportLab include the Basalt rehabilitation centre, The Hague Royals, Beach Team Nederland and Bosan Sportinstallaties.
