Degree Programme Advisory Committees
All Degree Programme Advisory Committees consist of students and lecturers from a programme. Their point of contact is the programme manager. The Degree Programme Advisory Committee:
- advises on the programme’s Education and Examination Regulations (EER).
- assesses the implementation of the EER annually.
- provides solicited and unsolicited advice to the faculty director and Faculty Council on all matters relating to teaching within the programme.
The Degree Programme Advisory Committee discusses aspects relating to the quality of education, such as a reasonable study load for students, changes to the programmes offered, changes to the examination regulations, and the assessment of lecture and examination timetables. For the programme, the Degree Programme Advisory Committee is an important and valued link in the process of quality assurance and promotion of education. In addition, as of 1 September 2017, Degree Programme Advisory Committees have a statutory right of consent regarding certain parts of the EER.
Depending on the number of students, a Degree Programme Advisory Committee has 6 or 8 seats, always equally divided between students and lecturers on the programme. The daily board of a Degree Programme Advisory Committee consists of 2 members: the Chair and the secretary.
