This workshop marks a deepening of collaboration between governments, businesses and knowledge institutions from both countries.

The focus lies on energy-efficient construction, nature-inspired climate adaptation and digitalisation in the built environment. From The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Professor Dr. Rizal Sebastian, (Chair Professor of Future Urban Systems) and Drs. Ing. Jacco Bruil (Lecturer-Researcher of Architecture & Nature (both part of the Centre of Expertise Mission Zero) will actively contribute.

The workshop is jointly organised by NL Knowledge House, Nuffic Southeast Asia, the Dutch Embassy in Indonesia, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Indonesian Property Management Association, various companies and universities.

The Hague University of Applied Sciences actively involved 

Rizal Sebastian and Jacco Bruil will share their expertise on sustainable urban development and energy efficiency and will explore new opportunities for research, education and training with Indonesian partners. The University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences are also part of the programme.

Practice-oriented collaboration on solutions 

Participants will work in various sessions on two real-life case studies: an office building of the Indonesian Property Management Association and a university campus of the Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia. These cases will serve as a starting point for developing joint strategies in the areas of renovation, regulation, technology, architecture and financing.
