Good Will Hunting (1997)

Good Will Hunting is an American drama film from 1997, directed by Gus Van Sant and written by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The lead roles are played by Damon, Affleck, Robin Williams, Stellan Skarsgård, and Minnie Driver, with Casey Affleck and Cole Hauser in supporting roles. Set in Boston, the film follows Will Hunting (Damon), a troubled young man and self-taught mathematical genius who works as a janitor at MIT. His exceptional talent is discovered by Professor Gerald Lambeau (Skarsgård). To avoid a prison sentence, Will agrees to study under his guidance while also attending therapy sessions with psychologist Sean Maguire (Williams). The therapy forces him to confront his past and his relationships, including the one with Harvard student Skylar (Driver).
