Pluri-perspective learning in times of transition
How can we use different perspectives to make higher education more inclusive, just and future-oriented?
During Global Educators Day, the Centre of Expertise Global Inclusive Learning at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS) invites educators, researchers, students and professionals to an inspiring symposium on pluri-perspective learning. The event is open to both staff and students of THUAS as well as external visitors interested in education, inclusivity and societal transitions.
In higher education, students, educators and societal partners increasingly learn and work together in diverse and international environments. This superdiversity calls for new ways of collaborating and learning. At the same time, it offers opportunities for reciprocal learning, critical reflection and innovation.
During this symposium we will explore pluri-perspective learning: an approach that brings different perspectives, backgrounds and experiences together in learning processes. By engaging in dialogue with others, students and professionals can learn to think beyond their own frames of reference and develop new insights together.
Programme and Themes
During the afternoon we will explore four interconnected themes:
- PluriPerspective Learning for Green Transitions & Climate Justice
How can diverse perspectives contribute to more just and inclusive approaches to sustainability and climate action? - Inclusive Leadership for PluriPerspective Learning
What forms of leadership support collaboration and shared learning processes in diverse teams? - PluriPerspective Learning Ecosystems: Towards Equitable Co-Creation
How can educators, professionals, students and communities co-create value and collaborate in equitable and meaningful ways? - Critical Pedagogy & Epistemic Justice
How can we move beyond dominant knowledge traditions to create learning environments that value different forms of knowledge and perspectives?
The afternoon will conclude with drinks celebrating the doctoral graduation of Marloes Ambagts, whose research focuses on pluri-perspective learning.
