Discover in interactive sessions and panels how technology and geopolitics are transforming the financial landscape.
Program
13:00–14:30 Parallel interactive sessions (choose one)
A) Crypto: Behind the Scenes
New technology opens new doors, but not every door leads to somewhere worth going. In this hands-on and playful workshop, you’ll create your own wallet, receive a bit of crypto, and experiment with tools that show where real value can be found. Jordi takes you behind the scenes of the crypto world, revealing how most crypto projects actually work, why many don’t, and how to tell the difference between innovation and illusion. Jordi Jansen.
B) Contagion in cryptocurrencies market: Implications for financial stability
From crypto bubbles to stablecoin runs and DeFi liquidations, shocks within the digital asset ecosystem increasingly ripple into traditional markets. This panel examines where and how those links form, through investor sentiment, liquidity channels, and institutional exposure, and asks what this means for financial stability. Drawing on recent stress episodes, we discuss monitoring frameworks, data challenges, and potential macroprudential responses.Dr. Mathis Mourey, Brunello Rosa and Dr. Martijn van der Linden.
C) The future of payments
What does the rise of CBDCs, stablecoins, and cryptocurrencies mean for banks, cash, and regulation? And how do European policy goals and industry constraints fit into this? This session outlines the key developments and possible future scenarios for interoperability. Aleksandra Asscheman, Tamara Schmidt and Ria Roerink.
