Perhaps you suffer from dyslexia or have a hearing or visual impairment or physical disability. There is no reason why you cannot enrol in a degree programme at a university of applied sciences. THUAS has numerous facilities and adaptations that can help make studying easier for you. Possibilities include extra time to take exams, extra guidance and a specially equipped rest area. In order to provide the appropriate assistance, you must mention when registering that you have a functional limitation. You will then be invited to meet with a student counsellor, who will examine all the possibilities in your specific situation together with you. These possibilities are usually quite numerous.
More information & contact
Want to learn more? If you have any questions about studying with a functional disability, you can always talk to one of our student counsellors. Send an email to email@example.com. You will then be put in contact with the student counsellor of your (future) degree programme. Download our flyer Customised study.
(Dis)Ability Network (DIN)
Would you like to get in touch with students who have experience with studying with a disability at The Hague University of Applied Sciences? Then you can contact the (Dis)ability Network (DIN for short), a group of committed students who meet regularly to exchange experiences and further improve studying for fellow students. You can reach DIN via firstname.lastname@example.org and via Facebook and Instagram.
To better inform students with a disability or with a support request - due to personal circumstances - about the possibilities of (financial) facilities, there is the (mainly Dutch) website www.hogeronderwijstoegankelijk.nl. On this website you will find all information in one place. Whether you have a support question about studying with a disability or illness or a special (home) situation.
