Team Urban Social Development

Marianne is associated professor and is affiliated with various research groups within Centre of Expertise Governance of Urban Transitions. She conducts research into important challenges that cities face. She takes the perspective of residents and professionals as a starting point.

Ibtissam works as a researcher and is involved in a collaboration concerning prenatal home visits. She also studies women's groups in The Hague and conducts exploratory research on children of European labor migrants.

Denise has a background in Public Administration and Sociology, with a focus on issues related to social inequality which she researched through various forms of qualitative research. She primarily works for the research group Urban Social Development.

Stefanie’s research focuses on migration and participation. She is a sociologist and previously worked on these themes for the Dutch national government and through her own company, De Luisteracademie. Since 2025, she has focused on research with Ukrainian teenagers and their mothers, exploring their well-being and sense of belonging.

Stefanie also teaches Public Administration and is affiliated with the university-wide minor on racism and discrimination.
