Hannah R. Marston specializes in gerontechnology, digital health and age-friendly communities which integrates different dimensions of Urban Studies. Her scientific interests lie in the intersection of digital in/exclusion, usability, user experience (UX), and technology adoption across the life course.
She is based at The Open University in the city of Milton Keynes, and she is currently leading the project ‘Milton Keynes: A dementia-friendly city for all. She has been a Co-I on the DIALOGUE project funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), and in 2020 she led two COVID-19 projects, 1. Technology, Self-isolation, Health Wellbeing and Leisure Activities, 2. Dating apps, social connections, loneliness and mental health in a pandemic, and joins the Research Group of Urban Ageing as a visiting professor.
