Student coach
THUAS is a large institution. This can feel overwhelming for students who enter THUAS for the first time. Everything is new, unfamiliar and may require some figuring out. Naturally, you do not have to do this on your own. Throughout your studies, you receive personal guidance from a student coach
Personal student guidance
Throughout your studies, the student coach is your first point of contact for all matters relating to your well-being, your studies and the progress of your studies. During the first year you discuss whether you feel at home at THUAS, whether you are able to find your way, and how your studies and personal development are progressing. As the programme progresses, the nature of the guidance changes. The focus increasingly shifts towards successfully completing your studies, your professional development and the choices you can make within your studies for this purpose: your so-called learning pathway.
You can also contact the student coach at any time with questions or concerns. These may include personal circumstances that affect your studies, doubts about your degree programme, fear of failure, or difficulties with study skills.
Guidance and Coaching Lab
The student coaches are simply THUAS lecturers. In order to ensure that they are able to fulfil their role as coaches effectively, they are supported by the Guidance and Coaching Lab. This is where they receive training in communication skills and where they can raise questions about their guidance approach. The lab also offers support for the professional development of a teaching team.
