Students at The Hague University of Applied Sciences are the most satisfied with their degree programmes, compared to the other broad-based university of applied sciences in the Randstad Region. This is evident from the National Student Survey 2025 published today. We also scored remarkably well in terms of “willingness to choose the same study programme again”. We are particularly proud of that!

"It is great to see this appreciation reflected in the NSS scores. We are proud to have achieved such high scores for the third year in a row and that we continue to improve. Together with our lecturers, students, researchers and support staff, we are committed to providing high-quality education in a pleasant learning and working environment at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, ensuring that our education closely aligns with the needs of the labour market and society for our graduates," according to Arend Hardorff, member of the Executive Board and portfolio holder for Education and Quality Assurance.

Inclusive character and guidance appreciated

We see a positive trend this year, with an increase in scores in almost all areas. In addition to the above scores on overall satisfaction, the appreciation for our inclusive culture is also noteworthy, demonstrating that lecturers and students treat each other with respect in many degree programmes and that students feel safe to be themselves. Hardorff: “However, we are aware that this is not always the case for some of our students, which is why it deserves our continued attention”

Furthermore, high scores were awarded for the atmosphere on the degree programme, feasibility of studying, relevance to professional practice and facilities. Finally, students indicate that they are satisfied with the guidance provided by lecturers.

Arend Hardorff: "Our students' opinions are very important to us. The NSS gives them the opportunity to exert real influence on their education. The fact that they express their satisfaction is a compliment to all our colleagues and motivates us to continue on this path of continuous improvement and innovation.”

About the National Student Survey

The National Student Survey is a nationwide survey conducted by the National Centre for Student Choice, in which students give their opinion on various aspects of their degree programme and institution on an annual basis. The results are used to support young people in choosing a suitable course of study, for example via Studiekeuze123.nl. Prospective students can view and compare degree programmes here based on the NSE results. University of applied sciences and universities use the results to further develop and improve their education.

* The reference group includes: Hogeschool Rotterdam, Hogeschool Utrecht, Hogeschool Inholland en Hogeschool van Amsterdam.
