METACOG meeting in Košice
3 December 2025
Researchers Jeffrey Dahl and Kanan Dhru joined the METACOG meeting in Košice, collaborating with partners to advance AI literacy, co-design new teaching materials, and strengthen efforts against disinformation.
On 5–6 November 2025, partners of the Erasmus+ project METACOG gathered at the Technical University of Košice (TUKE) in Slovakia. METACOG focuses on strengthening AI literacy as an essential tool in addressing disinformation across European societies.
Representing the Multilevel Regulation research group and The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Jeffrey Dahl and Kanan Dhru, researchers and METACOG project leads at THUAS, joined the two-day meeting. The programme included progress updates on all project activities, such as the development of the AI Literacy Programme, pilot testing of educational materials, and strategies for dissemination and long-term sustainability.
A key part of the meeting centred on the co-design of the MOOC and accompanying teaching materials. These resources will support a broader understanding of the role of artificial intelligence in media production, digital resilience, and the detection of disinformation.
The sessions also provided valuable opportunities to exchange experiences and good practices in digital and media literacy. Partners discussed ways to integrate AI literacy into higher education and wider societal initiatives, including collaboration with civil society organisations and institutions working on digital security and education.
