The Hague Pathway College reaches a thousand
29 September 2025
When The Hague Pathway College (THPC) launched in 2019, they started with just 50 students. Since then, they’ve built a vibrant community that prepares international students for their studies at our university.
This past summer, they welcomed their 1000th student, a milestone that fills us with pride. As student recruitment coordinator Saulena Matuzaite puts it: “It’s not just about the number, but about the stories of each student. Together, we form a close-knit international community where students, teachers, and staff empower one another.”
Far from home
The 1000th student, Chi Quyn from Vietnam, deliberately chose THPC as preparation for studying at THUAS. “I wanted to strengthen my academic English and study skills before starting my bachelor’s degree. Thanks to the introduction week, I immediately got a clear picture of the program and felt the support from the teachers.” Although transitioning to studying and living in a new country comes with challenges, Chi sees mostly opportunities: “Studying in a multicultural environment helps me grow and discover things I could never experience back home.”
Personal guidance as a strength
According to Saulena, THPC’s strength lies in personal guidance and practice-oriented learning. “We offer small-scale education, projects that encourage collaboration, and support from the very first contact. Many of us were international students ourselves, so we understand what newcomers go through.” This approach ensures that students grow not only academically but also personally, and take the next step toward our university with confidence.
Looking ahead
Chi is already looking ahead to her future plans. “My goal is to deepen my knowledge in International Communication Management and apply it in projects and internships.”
Welcoming our 1000th student to the THPC program is a special moment for us as a university. As Saulena beautifully summarizes: “Every student who joins us adds something valuable to our journey. That’s what excites us to continue walking this path together.”
