Arend Hardorff, who has been a member of our Executive Board since 1 September 2022, will leave The Hague University of Applied Sciences on 1 January 2027. On that date, he will take up his new role as Chair of the Executive Board of Fontys University of Applied Sciences, which has 25 locations across the provinces of North Brabant and Limburg. This is a wonderful next step for Arend, who, as many will know, has deep roots in Brabant himself.

We have come to know Arend as an executive with a great passion for and extensive knowledge of education. At THUAS, he played an important role in, among other things, developing our vision on education and strengthening our culture of quality. With his focus on student success, he made a significant contribution to improving student wellbeing and satisfaction.

Arend: “I am looking forward to this new chapter at Fontys. At the same time, it was not an easy decision. THUAS is a fantastic institution to work for as an EB member, because of its breadth, its great diversity and its strong international character. And because of all the talented and dedicated colleagues who work here. Over the coming months, I will continue to give 100% to achieving THUAS’s ambitions.”

Although we are of course sorry to be saying goodbye to Arend as a close colleague, we are delighted for him as he takes this exciting next step. We wish him every success and enjoyment in his new role as Chair of the Fontys Executive Board – a role in which our paths will undoubtedly cross many times in the future.

The Supervisory Board has started the procedure to appoint Arend’s successor.
