As of April 1st, Clair Moore has taken on the role of Programme Manager at the Centre of Expertise Global and Inclusive Learning. With nearly 19 years of experience at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, she brings not only extensive knowledge of international education but also a strong belief that inclusive learning is a powerful driver of positive change.
A familiar face at THUAS
Clair began her career at THUAS teaching IT skills, helping students navigate tools like PowerPoint and Excel. Over the years, she worked across various faculties, gaining a broad perspective on education. In her new role as Programme Manager, she is focused on strengthening collaboration within the Centre of Expertise.
“Individually you can go fast, but together you go further,” she says. “It’s about fostering a culture where people feel connected and enjoy working together, driven by shared values.”
Driven by inclusion and equal opportunities
The Centre’s core themes—global learning, inclusivity, and future skills—are closely aligned with Clair’s personal motivations. “Educational opportunities shouldn’t depend on your background, income, or social status,” she explains. “The Centre of Expertise can contribute to creating a more equitable future.”
Educational opportunities shouldn’t depend on your background, income, or social status.

An international home in The Hague
Originally from Ireland, Clair has lived in the heart of The Hague for many years with her husband. Their 21-year-old daughter studies psychology in Rotterdam, while their 17-year-old son is in Ireland pursuing his passion for rugby. “We don’t have pets—just lots of plants—but we all share a love for sports,” she says with a smile. “Watching my children grow into independent, compassionate adults is the most beautiful thing.”
What inspires Clair
Outside of work, Clair enjoys training on the beach - even at 7:30 in the morning, rain or shine - and practices yoga. She also loves visiting museums and attending dance performances by Nederlands Dans Theater.
She’s currently reading Water by Irish author John Boyne and listening to Trevor Noah’s podcast What Now?. One quote that particularly inspires her is:
You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.
— James Clear
Clair: “Especially in education, that’s a powerful reminder: only with strong systems can we make real progress.”
