HEAR ME NOW is coming to THUAS!
24 April 2026
Some stories need to be heard. Stories about sexual misconduct, crossing boundaries, shame, breaking the silence, and the moment when someone says: this has to change.
Some stories need to be heard. Stories about sexual misconduct, crossing boundaries, shame, breaking the silence, and the moment when someone says: this has to change. That is why we signed a collaboration agreement this week with the HEAR ME NOW project. An exhibition and a series of workshops addressing an urgent theme: social safety and sexual misconduct.
HEAR ME NOW is not an “ordinary” exhibition. It has previously been shown at Leiden University and ROC Mondriaan, where it made a profound impact with life-size portraits and personal audio stories. Visitors came face to face with experiences that often remain unheard.
At THUAS as well, social safety is not an abstract concept, but something that affects students and staff every day. That is why we’re deliberately bringing this exhibition to our own community: by placing these stories at the center, we encourage open dialogue.
In addition to the exhibition, workshops will be organized for students and staff, offering space for exchange, recognition, and practical tools for action. How do you recognize the signs? What can you do when something doesn’t feel right? And how can we collectively contribute to an environment in which everyone feels safe or safer?
The project is made possible in part by the Municipality of The Hague, which is supporting efforts to break taboos and strengthen social safety in higher education.
Following the festive opening on December 1, the exhibition will be on display until December 11 in the main building of THUAS.
