Read with us
There’s something special about getting lost in a good book together. That’s why we’re kicking off The Lighthouse Book Club with The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, chosen by students and staff.
This captivating retelling of the Trojan War follows Patroclus and his deep bond with Achilles. It’s a story of love and friendship, ambition, honour and loss, and one that leaves plenty to talk about.
During the sessions, we’ll read together and share whatever catches our attention, moves us or makes us think. No reading or preparation beforehand needed: just bring your book, find a seat and join in. We’ll be reading from both the English and Dutch editions, so simply bring whichever you prefer: The Song of Achilles or Een lied voor Achilles. We’ll provide the snacks and drinks.
