For anyone who sometimes feels like there’s just too much going on
Between lectures, deadlines, group projects, part-time jobs, and a phone that never stops demanding your attention, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. There’s always something to do, somewhere to be, or someone trying to reach you. But what happens when it all becomes too much? When does staying engaged turn into mental overload?
On Tuesday, October 13, author and speaker Brankele Frank will join us at The Lighthouse. Inspired by her book Het Grote Ontprikkelboek, we’ll explore what it means to study and live in a world that rarely slows down.
What can you expect?
- A better understanding of how constant stimulation affects your mind and body
- Tips for recognising the signs that you're reaching your limit
- Space to reflect on studying in a fast-paced, always-connected environment
- Practical strategies for slowing down, recharging, and finding balance
Join us, listen in, ask questions, and discover what helps you recharge!
Please note that this event will be in Dutch.

Free entry for students, staff, and anyone interested, as always. Please register in advance:
Brankele Frank
Brankele Frank (1987) is a neurobiologist, author, and sought-after speaker. She studied in Amsterdam, London, and Paris, worked as a lecturer, and spent several years in the corporate world. Following a burnout, she immersed herself in the neurobiology of stress and recovery. In 2023, she published the bestselling book Over de kop (Burned Out), in which she explains—in an accessible yet engaging way—what happens in the brain during a burnout. In April 2026, her latest book, Het Grote Ontprikkelboek, was released, exploring how we can slow down, reset, and recover in a world of constant stimulation.
